Brian Parks of Spring Hill bought his first home last week. The 3 bedroom home is located in Holiday Lakes West in Holiday, FL. Brian is a designer at Signature Announcements in Clearwater, FL. Now, it will be a much shorter commute for Brian to get to work. Parents, Linda and Ron Parks of Spring Hill, are very proud of Brian. Good Job, Linda & Ron. And Brian. We closed just before Christmas. Now Brian is busy moving his things and thinking about where to put them.

Roxanne is an 8 year old black cat originally adopted from the SPCA Suncoast as a 2 year old. At that time, she came to us with only 1 eye and we do not know what  happened to her. She was returned to us in  November   because her family was moving and could not take her.  The family told us that in 2005 Roxanne's tail had gotten caught in a door and part of it had to be amputated.  Despite all of these problems, Roxanne is an affectionate, cuddly cat who likes to be petted. She likes to play with catnip mice and feathers and, when she is happy, will kiss your nose. Roxanne doesn't like to have her picture taken as she feels she isn't very photogenic but, if you meet her in person, you will fall in love. She is at the SPCA Suncoast. We are located at 7734 Congress St, New Port Richey and our adoption hours are noon- 6 PM, Weds through Sunday. Because Roxanne is a Priority Pet, her adoption fee $50 is which includes spaying, micro chipping and up to date vaccinations.

These two little guys were checking out our yard. We gave them some pistachio nuts and they seemed really happy. They were a little shy at first but not for long. They usually only come out at night and raid our bird feeder but they must have been very hungry; there were even a whole bunch of golfers out behind them. Looking for Christmas goodies maybe?

This gingerbread house is approx. 16ft high. Made fresh every year, it takes 1050 lbs of Honey, 800 lbs of flour, 600 lbs chocolate, 600 lbs powdered sugar, 180 lbs apricot glaze, 140 pints of egg whites, 35 lbs of spices.  See  the pictures below for the porch details.

Very special and very worth seeing. Don't start counting carbs though! Merry Christmas to all.

The Grand Floridian is one very beautiful place. Their gardens are gorgeous and filled with poinsettias (and deer). The lobby has a huge tree which I will blog about later. We stayed at Wilderness Lodge which is breathtaking but my all-time favorite is Animal Kingdom Lodge. Where else can you see Giraffe up close and personal from you hotel room? More on that another time. If you haven't been to Disney World at Christmas, it is worth the trip. Every hotel is decorated and you can visit each one. The Grand Floridian has a 14-15 ft. Gingerbread house in the lobby. And, you can buy gingerbread roof tiles to eat.

The Main Street Holiday Parade took place on Sat night (12/12). It was great fun and there were lots of beads being given out. The parade started with lots of fire engines and lots of noise (The video is about 30 seconds and is quite noisy but gets you in the spirit). All of this led up to Santa finally making his appearance (he was the star!). There were miniature horses, old vehicles, indians, bands, and, did I say beads!
