Our good friend Karen King is running for Pasco County School Board Dist #4. Karen believes in the Pasco County School System and the importance of a quality education. Her two children attended, and graduated from Pasco County Schools and her two grandchildren are currently attending elementary school here.
Karen says, "The school system affects the entire community and we need to secure a better future for our children by providing them with the best tools available. We can start by empowering the teachers, students and parents. Let's get the community involved with more volunteers and mentors. By improving our education system, we will improve everyone's standard of living and have a tremendous impact on the economy in Pasco County."
Originally from South Plainfield, NJ., Karen graduated from East Carolina State University, with a degree in education. Karen moved to Pasco County in 1992. She says," my two children graduated from Gulf High. My daughter graduated from University of South Florida and lives in Pasco with my 2 grandchildren. They attend Richey Elementary School. My son graduated from Florida State University, received his masters degree from Harvard University and will be attending New York University Law School in the fall."
