For years, Craig and I have driven past Just-A-Mere Lane in Dade City-Florida when we are to-ing and fro-ing to just about anywhere east of where we live. That’s not hard because we live as far west on the west coast of Florida as can be.


We were always intrigued by the name and kept saying “Isn’t that cute, we should see where it goes.”

So, one rainy day on our way home from DisneyWorld in Orlando, we decided to actually stop in Dade City and see what Just-A-Mere Lane was all about.

Just-A-Mere Lane is a lovely area of beautiful homes with no real roads; just paved lanes that wind around and are shaded by lots of beautiful trees.
Just wide enough for one car to drive along.

Trail Ride for the Preservation of the Croom Forest at Diamond B Ranch Nov 7

Croom Forest Preservation - Diamond B Ranch

According to the Citizens Preservation Fund this proposed landfill will NOT just effect the neighborhood...this is a serious county issue, in that our water and quality of life, as well as other criteria, are in serious jeopardy. Two private, for profit companies are trying to put a 26+ acre C&D landfill site at the end of Wildlife Lane in Brooksville, FL.  This site is bounded on most of three sides by the Withlacoochee State Forest.  There already are two closed landfills less than a half mile from the proposed C&D Landfill.
