New Port Richey-Florida
Yesterday, while I sat happily entering a new listing and recording a sold one, there was a horrendous banging on my window. It sounded like someone was using a hammer and seemed like the window would break. I couldn’t imagine who or what would make that kind of noise.
As I glanced over at the window, I was startled to see this face. Being the intrepid photo-journalist that I am; I took his picture in order to give the CSI's evidence of the break-in. (You know, just in case I didn't survive).
Now that’s a face only a mother could love!
The noise was so loud that our neighbors came out to see what was going on. Luckily, I had one of my trusty cameras on the desk and managed to get this photo before Craig shooed them away.
Going-Going-Gone
If you look carefully, you can see a ghost of a photographer reflected in the window; and you can see our neighbors watching from across the way. (Big help they would have been).
We have figured out that this is a particularly aggressive male who sees himself reflected in the window film and wants to attack to protect his harem.

Who would have ever thought, i am glad you survived
this just goes to prove my point that most buyers out there today are turkeys!!
Thanks, Scott, it was a tough situation :)
James - no comment!
Toni, Great photos and for sure keepers. That big Tom is old enough to run for office. Reminds me of when a roadrunner would back up and charge our patio doors about six times then it would go to the next one and do the same. This went on for five years every day.
We don't have road-runners here, Don. We do have coyotes though. You're right, he is an old Tom.
Good Morning Toni, Well, I have to say that put a smile on my face. I love your story. I can't wait to see my grandchildren's face when I tell them this one around the fireplace tonight. I want to thank you for pictures to go along with the story. Still LOL>
Toni, too cute, that would have been frightening to hear that noise.
Arleen - glad I could add to the fun.
Joan - it was really, really loud. My neighbors came over and told us the turkey has been doing that on their window too.
Toni, I don't blame you for taking pictures! They are a pretty scary looking gang, luckily you managed to scare them away!
Hi Toni, I love this. When I first looked a the photo, I blurted out with a laugh. You know the LOL type of thing. That was very much fun and thank you for sharing it.
Glad you had your camera to capture the moment. Better the window than an attack on a reflection on your auto. Peacocks like to peck on blue cars.
Toni,
Yeah, now that Thanksgiving is a distant holiday, they all come out to play.
Rich
Hi Toni:
Male turkeys can be very aggressive. I've had one chase me....it's actually a pretty funny story.
Anyway, glad that you survived the turkey invasion!
Toni,
WOW! I'm glad Tom Turkey didn't break your window! Are you going to get some new signs that say, "Watch out for Turkeys," or Turkey Crossing, or perhaps, BEWARE OF PEEPING TOMS!!!
I like how your face reflected in the glass with the camera. Looks like the flash scared old Peeping Tom away! But those neighbors, what's wrong with your neighbors? Did you check to see if they had a shot gun or something to get the old turkey? Do you think they would have rescued you if the Peeping Toms got inside your house? Or do you think they were planning to cook it?
This is one of the best posts I've ever seen yet! You really deserve to have this one featured!!!
Toni, Wow! That would scared me to death if I'd seen that at my window!
Tony - it's a tough job, but someone's got to do it.
William - it's always good to know you made someone laugh. :)
Roy - I have heard that too. We don't seem to have any peacocks in our area.
Rich - you're right; we have at least 30-35 of them around now.
Toula - I expect to see a post on that story.
Patricia - that would have made a great title: Beware of Peeping Toms. LOL
Elyce - I was so focused on getting the picture - before Craig chased him away.
That is a serious ugly intruder you had there. Very funny story. I never thought turkeys would get so close to a home.
Toni - I'm still laughing!!! :-) Good thing you had your camera near by, so you could share this with us!!!
Michael - they are in our yard all the time but that's the first time they got up close and personal :)
Denise - yes, I almost didn't make it before Craig got outside to chase them but at least I got one!
Toni, what an unusual occurrence! I've never seen wild turkeys knock on a window!
Totally love this photo and story. You live in such a fabulously interesting area!
Toni, that it totally wild! We've had egrets and herons come up to our patio doors but nothing like knocking on the windows! Good thing you had your camera nearby!
Toni,
That is funny, and we are glad you made it through OK, and were able to record the evidence for our amusement. These turkeys are a hilarious bunch. Thanks for sharing it with us. A
Maria - me either, till then :)
Susan - thank you.
Silvia - yes, it was a good thing.
Alexandra - their not as cute as your seals :)
Toni - now that is something! An aggressive male turkey.....is that a play on words or what?!?!
Ubetcha!
hahahahhahah OMG Toni this is sooo funny. I can't imagine them doing this. Apparently they were in the market for "a new home." LMAO
Wow, thanks Debra. Maybe he was looking for a new home ;)
