A Stormy Day on the patio at Mezzaluna Pizzeria-New Port Richey-FLorida

It was a sunny Saturday and we were in downtown New Port Richey for an event in Sims Park and we had time between, so we stopped by Mezzaluna Pizzeria for a restful interlude on her lovely patio. And, of course, some of her fabulous food.

The regulars were there.....Mezzaluna Pizzeria-New Port Richey-FL -

Craig Weidman - www.tweidman.comand the lovely day and having Fun!

Uh Oh, along came a storm; a really nasty storm.

The rain was coming down like crazy, there was thunder and lightning, and it was WINDY so the rain was blowing sideways: we couldn’t even stay under the patio cover.

Because Michelle treats everyone like family, we all pitched in to clear the tables and go inside.

15 minutes later we were all back outside on the patio (the tables and chairs needed problem) enjoying the sunshine again.

I love those sudden storms and then it clears up.  I remember being in Hawaii and we just laid there in the rain, until the sun came out.  It was beautiful going with the flow...A

I love them too, Alexandra. Normally, we wouldn't run inside but this was very windy and every thing started to take off-we closed all the umbrellas and took the napkin holders, etc. inside.

Toni, sounds like our kind of place.  There's nothing like a great italian pizzaria!

You would love this place; it's so homey and the food is great.

Toni -- I could take 15 minutes of bad weather knowing I was having some good pizza waiting for me and beautiful blue skies when the storm was over.

I remember those 15-minute storms when I visited Tampa back in 1995. I was there for two weeks and each afternoon, at precisely 2:00, a storm would roll through. Lasted 15 minutes. You could set your watch to their consistency. Made playing afternoon tennis a mess.

Sounds like my kind of place and the pizza sounds even better.  It is almost dinner time here. Glad a little rain & wind did not ruin your fun.

What a great way to spend the day and have fun! Looks like a great community to live and work where everyone knows your name - helpful too!

I love it!

Hi Toni,

This is such a great post... I loved the story and the matching pictures.  I felt like I was right there!  It's great how everyone pitched in and cleaned tables so they could go inside... Michelle and her Mezzaluna Pizzeria sound like a wonderful place to go no matter what kind of weather you are having.  Thanks Toni...  I enjoyed this!

Toni, That's one of the great things about Fla, many of the storms only last a few moments and then it's back outdoors again ~ BTW, as good as Mezzaluna's Pizzeria must be, if you want GREAT pizza, you gotta come back to Long Island!

Toni, what a great way to give Mezzaluna's Pizza a plug!     Looks like a great place to meet up with friends.    Your storms don't last long, ours have lasted for DAYS!
