Reflection - Am I a Swan?

Mom said I was a Pelican but I look so great in my reflection, maybe she’s wrong and I’m a swan.

Pelican Reflection -www.tweidman.com

We all want to be something other than what we are, don’t we? At times, we all try to be something other than what we are. And, sometimes, we don’t like our reflections.

Maybe we should just be who we really are: Pelican or Swan-they are both beautiful-and we can love them all.

Toni,

I find the pelicans one of the most intriguing creatures in the avian world.  I love watching them fly in formation, and I love to see their dive bombing.  They are beautiful.  Swans are nice and they also are magical in their own inimitable way.  Nice post, we love them all and they enrich our lives. Awww, Toni...I love your photo AND what you had to say to go along with it. Reminds me of when I was in kindergarten and had a classmate with curly blond hair and blue eyes. I remember telling my mom I wanted to be a blue-eyed blond, too! :)

Alexandra - I love pelicans because they are so pre-historic looking; I used to volunteer for a pelican rescue, thanks.

Rob - thank you; he thinks he's a swan too :)

Dale - Thank you and thank you for the feature!

Leilani- I think we all want something different; we tend to think of other as "better" and that's so not true.

Thank you all for stopping in.

Perception is everything.  Maybe this pelican will be happy thinking he's a swan.

Hi Toni,

Great picture and and I loved the analogy. Is the glass half full or half empty? A persons attitude and perception is so important. Thanks for sharing.
