Wilderness Lodge in Disney World-Orlando-The Only Thing Missing is Snow
We were at our favorite vacation spot back in September and wandered over to Wilderness Lodge. (DisneyWorld for those who don’t know what our favorite spot is). I love to see the gardens there because they are like wild mountain meadows.
Wilderness Lodge is a beautiful place to stay if you’re coming down to Disney World in Orlando, Florida. The only thing missing is the snow but we don’t mind that at all.
The lobby is incredible and quite interesting

Toni: It has been a few years since we've been to DisneyWorld but it was always one of our favorite destinations too...of course my girls loved it!
Toni - I'm probably one of the very few that don't love Disney World, mostly because of the crowds and commercialism. However, I still go each year with my whole extended family just to see the kid's faces light up - that's worth anything. The next time I go, this is where we are going to stay. I'm a huge nature lover and finally Disney has a place that suites me perfectly. Thanks for the information!
Hello Toni,
I was last at Disney back in 2005, seems every time we go there is all kinds of new stuff to see and visit or ride.
Great place to see on my next visit.
Thanks for sharing. Best Clint Mckie
Anita - it's time to go again.
Kristine - you might like Animal Kingdom Lodge even better. You get to see giraffes, and all kinds of animals from different rooms and down in the outside area. I agree about the crowds and commercialism but it is still fun to watch folks especially in the lobby.
Clint - glad you enjoyed it. You also might enjoy Animal Kingdom Lodge.
Toni, Nice speaking with you yesterday and thanks for sharing your valuable information. It is much appreciated. Next time when I am in Orlando area may want to try the Wilderness Lodge, I like your 2nd & the 5th photos. Have a wonderful weekend.
Toni it's been many years since I've been to Disney World you're post has inspired me to think it might be the perfect place to take the grand-kids for a big family vacation!
One thing about Disney World is that nothing is done half baked. Every inch of every property is an exercise in imagination and detail. Always a magical place to visit at any age, and if you haven't seen how they do it up for Christmas, you should definately check it out!
Toni,
I have not been to Disney Land in Orlando, drove past it many times, when we attended NAR there...I love this Wilderness lodge, in particular, I was drawn to the carved animals in the lodge poles. Thanks for sharing it, one of these days, we will get there. A
That looks very inviting, my kind of winter vacation! I enjoyed looking at your photos.
Toni, I have not been to Disney in several years, but the Wilderness Lodge looks like great fun! Always love your pictures!!
Toni, I do see why it is your favorite place. It is really spectacular and unique....or at least for me. Beautiful photos. I would like to go there sometime. Thank you for taking us with you!
Toni,
I've never been there but just looking at that lobby has really piqued my interest. Just fantastic.
Rich
Toni, Your photos show how lovely this place really is. The lobby is beautiful. We're with Kristine, will have to definitely check this one out next time in town!
Toni, I can see why this is your fav vacation spot! Just the lobby IS incredible and flowers are gorgeous!
Hi Toni, these are great photos. We are going to visit Disneyworld one day soon, I hope. Since we have Disneyland here in Anaheim, the tug is not that great. But I still want to see it.
Hi Toni - You are actually very close to seeing snow at this time of year. Just hop onto your favourite mode(s) of transportation such as bus, boat, car or monorail to see snow. You can find snow on Main Street USA on select evenings. You will also find snow on the Streets of America at the Osborne Family Spectacle of Dancing Lights.
Toni, Wilderness Lodge sounds and looks like a great place to stay while visiting Disney World. Nice Post!
I have never been there and it looks really cool! Hope you had fun! It sincerly only needs a foot of snow to look exactly like the real thing!
Kwee - it was fun talking to you too. Hope it helped!
John - they would love it. I'll have to do a post about Animal Kingdom Lodge which is fantastic too.
Troy - I have done many posts about Christmas in Disney. It IS a magical place!
Alexandra - and next time, you will call Toni so we can meet up.
Tamara - thank you!
Joan - it is just a beautiful place to spend time in.
Karen - we live 2.5 hours away and we always stay on site. It's easier to get around because you can use Disney transport and let your car rest in the parking lot :)
Sandy - We used to live in LA, I have been to your Disneyland and believe me, there is a huge difference. You would love it.
Marc - now you know that's not real snow :) but yes they do have "snow" on MainStreet and at Osborne LIghts.
Michael - thank you.
Rosalie - that might be difficult here in mid-Florida ;)
Toni i have not stayed there yet, but it definately looks like a place not to be missed. Thank you for sharing your favorite place.
Toni, we have stay there as well. The Whispering Canyon is my favorite restaurant to have dinner when we visit Disney World .
I remember visiting Disney's Wilderness Lodge several years ago and it definitely left an impression on me. I'd love to go back someday.
