Panorama Pictures Without the Stitching

Panorama Pictures Without the Stitching

I have been experimenting with my  Sony Cybershot 10X Panorama feature ( I use different cameras for various types of pictures).  I took this shot on the second level of a Barnes & Noble in order to see exactly how much I could get in.  As you can see I have all 4 sides in the shot; the only area I didn’t get was the little corner I was in.
(I could have done that too but would have been very dizzy :).

This is one shot; no stitching together of frames, the camera does it for me.

The second shot was taken on the golf course behind my home. It is about 300º.

I took some others at an event we attended but people kept looming up right in front of me. EEEK.

Then I read the instructions (which, by the way, is a very unusual last ditch effort on my part), and there is a way to deal with that- it actually freezes them, and gives a sharp image of them even if they are moving. (Too bad it doesn't make them disappear out of the picture). I will be testing that out too and reporting on the effect. The building on the left was on my extreme left--almost behind me.

I didn't spend any time sharpening or cropping these pictures because I wanted to show you what the camera can do. You can go vertical too. You just have to tell the camera to shoot up, down, left or right.

My Sony does the same thing but I rarely use it for panorama's. I may have to give it a try.

Toni - I've done a few panoramics and it takes time to get it right. You did a great job! Don't you hate it when you're trying to take a picture and someone is just standing there, not doing anything except keeping you from getting your shot?!

On the new website we are doing in Santa Barbara, we have a wow photo that was stitched togehter showing our clients marketplace from the water.  It is the best thing I have ever seen in panorama stitching.  I will point it out to you as soon as the site is done, we have two of them. A

John - I like that one two-mainly cause it's my back yard :)

Rich - it takes to few tries to get the knack of movement but it's really easy to learn. Even if you don't read the manual.

Tony - they are useful at times so I'm glad it does do them.

Dale - I enjoy using it and find it does a lot that you wouldn't expect from a small digital.

Roy - Your flower pictures are awesome so you don't need a panorama.

Kristin - I've also been using it more for videos and getting the hang of that feature too.

Sheila - awww, shucks, thank you :)

Kristine - yes and they watch you trying to take the picture, and you just want to smack them upside the head.

Jennifer - yes, it's easy for me to carry everywhere. And I do!

The capacity to do stitching with your camera provides really neat photos.  They can be especially valuable for blogs.  Nice job!

Myrl - I didn't do any stitching; the camera took the picture this way. I just uploaded it.

That's pretty nead stuff!  I like how the camera does that.  I have to use my iphone or similar software to do this! :)

I didn't know my iphone could do that. Do you need an app or something?
