Don’t these lovely pansies look like butterflies? I never saw these before, and now I’m home trying to figure out where I can plant them. They need lots of sun, lots of water, and a place where I can see them everyday because they make me smile.

Good morning, Toni....I love pansies..... you're so lucky to be able to plant all year round.... the only thing we can plant is a snow shovel in the the snow banks....
Great blog and great job keep up the good work and good luck toy you this year. Thanks.
Beautiful -- if it is full sun at the front of the house, put them there and let everyone enjoy as they come to visit with you. And yes, they do look like butterflies.
Barbara - :) love the snow shovel planting. Do you have to water them?
Josh - thank you.
Bud & Beth - that's what I thought too and it is full sun there. Can't you just see them fluttering around out there.
Toni - very pretty! I'm in the process of doing my yard, and want to focus on native plants that will increase butterflies, hummingbirds, and birds to my yard...
Toni,
That's the most unusual coloring on a Pansy I've ever seen. Boutique flowers...I love it.
Rich
Beautiful flowers, here in Connecticut we need to wait till end of May before we can plant them.
Carol - I've been doing that for years. I love all the butterflies, bees, birds that visit. Enjoy!
Rich - aren't they just so eye-catching and so cute. Boutique Flowers - I like that.
David - I'm sorry!
Toni, I have never seen those before either...sooo cool looking and what a novel idea!
Lucky Lucky Toni to be able to these pansies in your garden now...and yes they do look like butterfies!
Toni: They really do look like butterflies. I wish I had a green thumb...I have such a terrible time keeping annuals alive.
Good morning Toni. Wow.....they do look like butterflies and they are just beautiful. Pansies have always been a favorite of mine but they don't do and enjoy them. well for me. Good luck with yours
Those are really neat looking! Pansies never look that good at my house...gets too hot too fast and I'm too cheap to water all the time. :-)
Toni, this would be a great day to plant these beautiful pansies! Having year-round colorful flowers would be nice, but would miss the "seasons"!
Hi Toni, I don't know why but I've always called them Johnny-Jump Ups, they are only an annual here...it's so nice to see flowers in January! Thanks Toni!
My wife calls them Johnny Jump Ups. They grow well in the winter here so I bet they will love your Florida warmth and sunshine! Enjoy them and thanks for sharing with us Toni.
Toni,
They are beautiful, and they made me smile also. Thanks for sharing them with us. A
Thanks for the smile Toni....lovely pic!
Toni~ They absolutely look like butterflies. I think they would be great in a window box.
Hi Toni, These are my favorite variety of pansies. Like John mentioned in #16 I also know them as Johnny Jump Ups. I wish I could have year round outdoor flowers like you. And yes they do look like butterflies.
Have fun!
Gloria
Several of you mentioned Johnny Jump-Ups and I remember hearing that name from years ago.
Yesterday was a busy day so I will catch up with all of you later today. Thank you all for your wonderful and fun comments.
Toni--These pansies are gorgeous. I envy you being able to plant them now. Enjoy them for all us who live north of the Mason-Dixon line. No snow, but it is too cold for flowers just yet. Not even the snow drops, our first flowers, have popped up.
Hi Toni,
You are so right, they do look like butterflies. I think I will go to Lowe's and buy some tomorrow. They are so cute! Good find Toni!
Mary - I would send you some if it would do any good.
Kristin - They are and I still need to go get them.
