Tassels On His Ears-Oh My - A Red River Hog in Animal Kingdom-Orlando

This decorated guy is the Red River Hog or Bush Pig of Africa. Living in rain forests and normally seen near swamps and rivers, they live in herds of 6 to 20 with a dominant male. Mostly nocturnal, they eat plants and roots, fruits and grasses. Some small animals (lizards).

Wonder if that is where the idea for a jester/jokers face came from?

He is almost cute in an ugly way.

Toni,

If you ever call me "cute" I'm going to wonder since you consider him "cute."

Than - only a mother Red River Hog could love that face.

John - no I wouldn't either :) but he's nice in Animal Kingdom.

Rich - you are handsome; he's cute.

Toni: I do believe that's a face only a mama piggy could love.  LOL  Thanks for the information.

Hi Toni.  I've never seen such a creature outside of an animated movie!  For some reason I expect him to start singing "Hakuna Makata"  : )

You are tooooooo kind when you call this kind of cute. I guess there is always beauty to be seen in the eyes of the beholder, or something such, cheers cvc

Karen  - well, he is a wild hog.  I think you're right!

Myrl - LOL. Another Red River Hog might think Rich is cute too.

Alexandra - I agree, Rich is cute; but he doesn't want me to say that :)

Toni, He is sort of cute in the daylight, at night I am sure he would scare me pretty good!

Toni, to tell the truth that hog is absolutely soooo ugly :)  and would hate to meet up with it!

Hi Toni,

I think he is cute but frankly would not be interested in becoming friendly with him. I do think his ears look like he has tassels hanging down. How cute and thanks for sharing.

Tony - me either!!!

Rebecca - well, i wouldn't want to see him out loose in my back yard although we do have wildhogs in the woods behind us, I've never seen one. Just the damage to the golf course they do.

Kristin - thanks, no, I'm not looking to pet him either :)
