Has Anyone Seen My Pants - Wood Stork In New Port Richey, FL

Wood stork

We sat down to dinner Saturday night and as I looked out my kitchen window I spotted this Wood Stork. He was just standing on a berm out on the golf course at Timber Greens and seemed to be looking for something. He stood there throughout dinner, I felt like maybe I should invite him/her in.

Perhaps he wanted to look for a new home. I could then fill out the listing agreement and check Bird in the representation box.

Oh, that's awesome...he is adorable, even though he looks slightly perturbed at having lost his pants.  You have a lot of beautiful wildlife in New Port Richey, Florida!

I think he's searching for the perfect Timber Greens home and he's just taking a break from scouting out the neighborhood...

Toni~ He/she does appear to be waiting for someone or something. I think you should have invited him in for dinner. I'm sure he would have accepted your invitation. :-)

Toni, He sure does have a pair of bird legs if I have ever seen any. Oh yeah, he is a bird.

I've had moments like that!  Most notably about a year ago, when I ran out the door, jumped in the car with an oversized sweater on.  A last minute phone call had distracted my dressing routine.  It wasn't until a stop light at a busy intersection that I looked down and found them missing!

Toni, how cute!   I was thinking this was a sand crane.   Do they hop, or do they use those legs as we do?     This stork must have wanted to be invited in!

What a cute photo Toni.  You have such a wide variety of wildlife at Timber Greens...never a dull moment!

Kristin - glad to give you a smile.

Myrl - too funny. I was out one day wearing a pair of sandals and looked down to see they weren't a pair. Close but not the same.

Roger - it sure could have been. One of the gators  could have stopped by.

Joan - no Sand Hill Cranes look different and yes, they kind of walk along like old men/women.

Than - for sure.

Anita - we do, Debbie Hancock calls it my wildlife park.

Toni,

What a great stork! I've never seen one like that before. Your title caught my attention.

What I love about your blog is that you frequently introduce us to wildlife that I normally would never see, perhaps not even in a zoo. And to think, many of these beautiful creatures just happen to be in your own backyard or wandering around, looking like lost Wood Storks without a pair of pants!

Hi Toni,

Your stork picture is so cute. I am so partial to long legged birds. Thanks for sharing.

Patricia -  I do have a lot of wildlife in my backyard. I have ponds and a small river meandering through so it attacts all these waterbirds, woodland vreatures, etc. I love it. Happy Fourth.

Kristin - thanks. I thought he was so cute when I saw him.
