Cell phone

Pasco County Library Cooperative has new technology that allows you to scan your library card into your iPhone or Android. You can scan it and then you never have to worry about carrying your card with you. (You always have your cell phone, don’t you?). Mine is stapled to me.

You can use apps like CardStar, Key Ring or Stocard. I used CardStar and it worked so easy. At least CardStar was easy; I didn’t try the others. I downloaded it, scanned the card, and there it was. Then  all you’ll need at the checkout desk is your phone.

OH AWESOME! I wonder if our local library has anything like this - something to look into! Thanks for sharing!

What a great idea!  So the barcode reader in the library can just read the barcode off the phone?  I love it!

Toni- I wonder if our library system has that.  I don't like to carry all of those reward/membership cards so have my Starbucks and Panera card on one of my apps.

Erin - I don't know if it's all over yet but it seems like a good idea for everyone.

Dianne - that's the plan.

Kathy - you can probably check it out on their website.

Debbie - check with your library first to see if they use it.

Endre - I think it's great because I change pocketbooks and forget to move that card over....a lot.
