Doll Houses - Did They Lead To My Real Estate Career

Doll Houses - Did They Lead To My Real Estate Career

I have always loved doll houses. My mom did too, and used to build them and decorate them. She always had several going at one time. I have built a couple. There is something so fascinating about the world of miniatures. I have books on doll houses and how to make miniature furniture, food, and all the accoutrements of the doll house. I haven't done any in years and all of a sudden, I have a craving to build another one.

Wonder what the little people are doing right now?

Is it possible that the life-long  love of doll houses led to my career

in real estate?

Toni: My oldest daughter would spend hours making stuff for her doll house but my youngest always used hers as a clothes horse. Your post brought back a flood of memories. ;-)

Hi Toni.  There is something fascinating about miniatures!  My son had model trains when he was small, and I helped design and decorate the tables with roads, power lines, trees, and buildings.  We had a great time!

Toni, I enjoy looking at Doll Houses but, I wouldn't have the patience to build one. I hope you start on a new one, would love to see pictures as you progress!

Building doll houses could be a great hobby that you could take into retirement.

They had a great dollhouse display at the museums in Colonial Williamsburg.

Toni it could have.  I never finished working on a single doll house with my daughter.   It was eventually thrown out since she was older and lost interest,

Nice to recall those fond memories.

Not sure how I missed this one Toni, but I too loved dollhouses and playing with miniature furniture and I bet you and I were both inspired by them.  However, my least favorite style is the Victorian which is what most of these dollhouses are as I believe they were created during that time period.

There is probably something to it. One of my favorite school projects involved building our dream home. I can still remember all of the details I added.

I hope, you are back to building the miniature houses. They are adorable:)
