Turkeys In The Rain At Timber Greens

Turkeys In The Rain At Timber Greens

We awoke to pouring rain this morning, and it continued for quite a while.  I glanced out the window and saw our wild turkey tribe wandering around the pond and golf course. Some of the guys were proudly displaying their tails.

They seemed to be enjoying the berries on my Lantana bush.

These last two pictures have a pinkish cast from the reflection of my iPod cover on the window.  I did the best I could to get rid of it. The rain pouring down didn't help with the sharpness either. I adjusted that so it is much better.  But still not great, probably due to all that water sliding down the window.  They remind me of 1960's pictures :)

Usually wild turkeys are very skinny; these guys look heavier than in past years.  Maybe they are on a stuffing diet.

It's good to see the turkeys out and about in the rain Toni. I like the description of the photos too!  :)

Toni: Fat Turkeys just before Thanksgiving...it sounds like they are playing a bit of Russian Roulette. ;-)

Toni,

How funny, we used to see tribes of turkeys in the countryside in Napa where we lived.  They would show up around this time!  What were they thinking?  LOL A

Isn't it really cool when wildlife interacts near our residential areas.  My home is within a couple blocks of the American River Parkway.  There are Wild Turkeys, Coyotes , Deer, Fox, and numerous other animals there.  AND, every once in awhile they meander up onto our lawns.  I had a pair of Peacocks roam my front yard early last year.  Unfortunately, I didn't get a very good picture of them.
