Long Car Trip - Check Out Car Games App for the kids.
Remember those long, boring road trips when we were kids? We played Count the Cows, Count License Plates, count the raindrops on the window and others.
If you want your kids to see some of the country along the road, try a break from the electronics and do some simple games. There’s an app for that.
On iPhones it’s simply called Family Car Games and costs $1.99. on iTunes. It lists memory games, window games, pen and pencil games, and lots of others. There are instructions for fun games (not the game itself). This will give you ideas for games that you can play without the electronics. Click here for website. Or Check out the Facebook page. It is an app containing over 100 games and what you will need. It has been updated to work on iPhone 6.
Games are broken down into catories such as "pen and pencil games", "radio games", "singing games". The app doesn't give you the game, after all, this is supposed to get the kids away from electronics.
The reviews for the app varied but were mostly positive; and most thought of it as a great way to relieve the boredom. Wouldn't it be enjoyable to use it in restaurants and while waiting at the doctor’s office. We used to play cards using the coasters on the table when my son got bored waiting for his meal.
At only a $1.99, it's got to be worth it.

I am sure many parents are thankful for this and keeping the kiddos occupied!
I'd be calling you every day for instructions if I had a smart phone.....I'll stick with my stupid one.....I know how it works.....kinda.
HI Toni Weidman, what a great app, thanks for sharing it!
Good Wednesday morning Toni Weidman -
Where were these cool apps when I was a kid making many road trips up and down the west to visit my Grandparents? Are we there yet?????
Hello Toni Weidman, I need to past this along to my grandkids for them. at their age they need to be involved.
$1.99 seems like a deal to me, Toni Weidman - but I still enjoy the old-fashioned car games where one talks with the others--plus on twisty mountain roads there's less of a chance motion sickness will rear its ugly head.
Things have really changed Toni. I remember being bored in the car. "Are we almost there"?
Great advice, Toni. And, there's no shortage of games and apps for all of our devices today.
Lottie Kendall They don't play on the iphone or pad, Lottie. The game gives them ideas and rules. They play on paper or just out loud.
Thank you all!
Toni, I do remember all those car trips, and we sure have used these games back then, less fighting!
Parents should love this suggestion.
Enjoy the holiday weekend!
