Florida Sales Tax Holiday Extended

Florida Sales Tax Holiday 2015 Extended

The Good News! The Florida Sales Tax Holiday which gives Floridians a break on school supplies and other things has been extended to 10 days from 3 days last Florida 10 Day Sales Tax Holiday 2015year. The Florida sales tax holiday will be in effect from Aug. 7 to Aug. 16.

What's Tax Free?
Items that will be tax-free include; clothing, footwear, wallets, and bags that costs $100 or less, school supplies that cost $15 or less, and the first $750 of the cost of personal computers and related accessories.

This means it’s time to start making a list of things you want/need so you won’t miss out. Make out a  list of stores you will need to hit in order to get your items; try to take advantage of the many sales planned around the holiday. Plan your shopping at times when the malls and stores won’t be as crowded. Be careful with your credit cards.

This is the Florida Sales Tax Holiday 2015. If you’re in another state reading this blog, check out this site with has all the state Sales Tax Holidays listed. (All states that have one).

Toni: Every little bit helps. This is a good program...good to see it extended to 10 days in FL. I hope other states follow your lead.

Toni, that sure helps parents buying their kids' back to school supplies; especially the first $750 towards a computer being tax exempt for that week in August.

Anita Clark  I was surprised. Last year it was barely 3.

Bruce Walter it's always very popular. People look forward to it.

Toni, a 10 day extension on the tax holiday is a nice little perk...usually it's just a weekend thing here.

Toni, that is good news!  People have a bit more time to stock up on school supplies and clothing items.

What a wonderful opportunity for those in your state, Toni!  I don't believe California has ever implemented such a holiday.  I wish they would!

New York State was the first state to offer sales tax holidays.  Unfortunately, it no longer offers sales tax holidays.

That is good news Toni. I have been lucky enough to hit it and be in FL on the right weekend several times. But not this year unfortunately.
